We can all honestly say that 2021 was the year that put many of our mental states to the test. This new year will present its own challenges and trials as it rolls in. Although we can not control how or what life throws at us, we can control how we deal with them.
I am blessed to have two granddaughters. They are such a joy to be around. They love to come over and get chased by grandpa. Like any other day, they giggled and ran around the room playing with grandpa “meeky,” as they call him. He chased them, roaring like a lion. As I sat and watched how they reacted, I came to a sort of clarity.
My youngest granddaughter, who is 2 years old and pretty feisty, I might add, ran as fast as possible to get away. When she could run no more, she turned quickly and began to put her hands up and fight. She fought “hard” to getaway.
My oldest granddaughter, who is 4 years old, and our little sweetheart also ran away from him as fast as she could. She ran until she could no more and then balled up in the corner and became afraid.
I slowly realized that both girls see precisely the same thing and run from the same person. They responded in entirely different ways. Even though some people just bring it in their nature to fight, it is a trait that can be learned through life’s experiences. Our job is to hone in on the perspective we want and manifest in our lives.
In this world, there are two types of people. You either fight, or you flee? This year, many will begin to shift their perception to cause more of a fight reaction rather than flight.
Learning to shift your perspective sounds easier said than done. It is not something that happens overnight either. It takes time and discipline. Time will keep going no matter what you are doing, and we can never get that time back. This year you have to make that choice to face whatever it is that you have to deal with and stop running from it.
If time is continually moving forward, you need to make the best of your time. Situations may not change, but changing your perspective may show you something completely new about your situation and how to maneuver through it.
This is the year to connect with yourself and others more spiritually. Seeing past our imperfections and flaws and connecting with others on a whole new level. This year, we are to take all we have learned and apply it to our lives.
Seek guidance from wherever you draw your strength from and make this year count. Make this the year about you. Strive to reach new levels never imagined. Change how you see yourself. See your worth, envision your purpose.
Two granddaughters – a blessing indeed. 💕
These empowering words stood out to me:
“… changing your perspective may show you something completely new about your situation and how to maneuver through it.”
